Young Mom Watches and Waits
This piece was torn by a young mother who gave birth to her child in another city when they discovered severe heart defects. In a life-altering second, they transferred the child by Medflight to The Children's Hospital, where it had been ever since, which at the time she came to me, had been months. She and her husband were destitute. Their car gave out on their way to OKC, they had been couch surfing with relatives, and had finally relocated to OKC with new jobs to start a long process of watching and waiting. This tells the story surrounding the birth of her child.
